Climate-Induced Migrations and Changing ‘Households’ in Bangladesh: An Analysis of New ‘Householding’ Structures from Gender Perspectives

Migration is influencing people’s livelihood choices as well their household arrangements in various ways. This research aims to explore the changes and shifts structures management systems among families of migrating people through a gender lens. In this qualitative systemic literature review content analysis, methods have been used fetch secondary data for analysis. The discussion section shows that losing traditional livelihoods, men are shifting day labour, rickshaw pulling, or other alternative sources women increasingly engaging agriculture, garments, domestic work. Therefore, migration areas restructuring structures. study found some emerging households, such with children, grandparents grandchildren group living working girls areas. These changing also impacting roles interactions within society. Findings show that, where male members migrate outside and/or engage income-generating activities, enjoy more mobility, bargaining decision-making powers, economic freedom, exercise agency.
